Tips for sharing stories with your child

  • If possible turn off the TV or Radio – its easier to share and enjoy a book without other distractions.
  • Ask questions and talk about the book – give your child time to share their feelings.
  • Let your child pick the story you are going to read, this may help to keep them interested, don’t worry if they keep picking the same book we all have a favourite story.
  • Use funny voices to make the story more engaging, your child will love this.

Remember there is no right or wrong way to share a story with your child.
