Make a Mud Pie

  • Collect mud/dirt/soil in pans from the garden – have something to stir with. For the inside, you will need a big sheet to cover the floor! Be prepared for a mess! Add the magic ingredient: water and explore! How does the mud feel? Language: sticky, squelchy, soft/hard, dry, wet, slippery, slimy.
  • Go on a nature hunt to collect flowers, rocks, sticks, shells, and other natural items to decorate your mud pies. Make pies for all the family.
  • Hide little treasures in the mud (little stones) and see who can find the most.
  • Check our ‘Literacy Book Packs’ section. Read the story: We’re Going on a Bear Hunt
